How to measure your X-shoulder

Take this measurement first. It determines whether you need a Petite or Regular fit — and it has nothing to do with your dress size.

Where to measure from: Stand with your arms relaxed at your sides. Place the tape at the very tip of your left shoulder — the bony point where the arm drops off the body, not the widest point of the arm. Run the tape horizontally across your upper back, following the natural curve of the shoulder blades, to the tip of your right shoulder. The tape should follow the line that a shoulder seam would take on a well-fitting jacket.

Ask someone to take this measurement from behind you if possible — it is difficult to measure accurately alone.

Three things to avoid:

Measuring too low — across the mid-back gives a wider, inaccurate reading.
Measuring at the widest point of the arm — find the bony shoulder tip, not the muscle.
Measuring from the front — always measure across the bac

How to measure bust, waist and hip

Bust

Around the fullest part of your bust, tape level and parallel to the floor. Wear your everyday bra. Tape snug but not compressing.

Waist

At the narrowest point of your torso, usually 2–3 cm above the navel. Bend gently to one side to find the natural crease. Do not pull tight.

Hip

Around the fullest part of your hips, approximately 20 cm below your natural waist. Feet together, tape level and not twisted.
